Pidyon Haben Ceremony in Marine Park, Brooklyn

I recently had the honor of being able to photograph a rare Pidyon Haben ceremony, at the JCC of Marine Park in Brooklyn, capturing a beautiful milestone for a young couple and their newborn son. This ancient Jewish ritual, which means "redemption of the firstborn son," involves the father symbolically redeeming his child from a kohen (priest) with five silver coins. During the two-hour event, I documented the ceremony itself, focusing on preserving the key moments that make these family traditions so meaningful.

All images in this blog post were shot on a Nikon D850 using a 24-85mm zoom lens, and all individually post-processed in Adobe Lightroom using custom-built presets.
